Palmer’s Perfect Beginning: A Portsmouth, OH Newborn Session Celebrating IVF Hope & Rainbow Baby Joy

From the moment baby Palmer Baker arrived at our studio in Portsmouth, Ohio, we knew this session was going to be something truly special. Not only is Palmer an IVF rainbow baby, but she also came in with the most peaceful little spirit and the kindest, most loving family.

She slept like a dream—completely content and curled up in every pose as if she had been practicing for her close-up. Working with her felt like posing a porcelain doll; every single image turned out soft, serene, and full of emotion. Her delicate headband, soft skin, and calm demeanor made her session absolutely magical.

But what made this session even more meaningful were the personal touches that told Palmer’s story. Her mama brought in the medical supplies from their IVF journey—each syringe a symbol of strength, determination, and the love that brought her into this world. Capturing Palmer cradled in a heart-shaped bowl surrounded by those syringes was deeply emotional and symbolic. It was an image of triumph.

Another special moment was the tiny bracelet gifted to her that reads “Jesus loves me.” That small detail added such a beautiful reminder of faith and family. It fit her session—and her story—perfectly.

Palmer’s big brother was beyond sweet. He held her so gently and looked at her with pride and love. The black-and-white backlit portraits of the two of them are some of our favorites to date. The light pouring in, the tender way he cradled her—it’s the kind of image that will forever hold a place in their hearts.

The Baker family’s full set of family photos turned out equally gorgeous. You can feel the joy and gratitude in every frame. Mom and Dad are over the moon for their baby girl, and it shows in every smile and touch.
